Lonnie Rathie - Heaven

Someday soon I'll find out just what I've been waiting for
Someday soon I know that my time will come
Someday soon I'll stand outside that open golden door
I'll be so grateful that my number has come up

And I will be so peaceful
And I will feel so strong
And I will not question my maker
And I will try to carry on

Someday soon I'll find out just what I've been aching for
Someday soon I'll understand it all
And I have lived so long believing in this heaven
I could not bear it if I found out I was wrong

And I will be so quiet
And I will be all alone
And I'll stand back, you will not notice me
But you'll feel me when I'm gone

And all that sweetness, all that goodness
will get you somewhere in the end
Don't think your good deeds go unnoticed
'Cause it'll all catch up to you, my friend

When I get back I hope that I just don't forget it all
Because the journey will have just begun
I'll take all I have learned and I will apply it to
this crazy situation that is life

I'll be the silent one that no one ever sees
And I will guide you to the promise land
You will not ever remember me
But I'll leave something in the palm of your hand

And all that sweetness, all that goodness
will get you somewhere in the end
Don't think your good deeds go unnoticed
'Cause it'll all catch up to you, my friend

Someday soon I'll find out just what I've been waiting for
Someday soon I know that my time will come
Someday soon I'll stand outside that open golden door
I'll be so grateful that my number has come up

And I will be so peaceful
And I will feel so strong
And I wil not question my maker
And I will try to carry on

And all that sweetness, all that goodness
will get you somewhere in the end
Don't think your good deeds go unnoticed
'Cause it'll all catch up to you, my friend
My friend...

One of my favorite songs of all times...
It's exceptional for a song to touch me every time I listen to it, over and over again.
I feel a great affinity with the lyrics, they are so beautiful.. I recognise my own thoughts every time.
